The New York Jets are signing a quarterback.
The Jets will be signing veteran backup Trevor Siemian, pending a physical, according to ESPN, adding another option to a quarterback room that is still trying to figure out a season without Aaron Rodgers.
A seventh-round pick in the 2015 NFL draft, Siemian began his NFL career on the Super Bowl 50-winning Denver Broncos, and was the starter for the 2016 season. Siemian spent the 2019 season with the Jets, playing in one game before he suffered a season-ending injury. He has also spent time with the Minnesota Vikings, Tennessee Titans, New Orleans Saints, Chicago Bears and Cincinnati Bengals.

Will Trevor Siemian start for the New York Jets?
Despite the signing of Siemian, Zach Wilson will remain the starting quarterback for the Jets despite his struggles since taking over for Rodgers.

In three games this season, Wilson has thrown for 467 yards with two touchdowns and four interceptions, leading the Jets to a 1-2 start. There have been several instances of Wilson engaging in long discussions with receiver Garrett Wilson on the sideline.
Wilson's play was criticized by Hall of Fame quarterback and former Jets quarterback Joe Namath, who said Monday following the 15-10 loss to the New England Patriots he doesn't believe in Wilson and doesn't think "he has a future as a good player" and "they made a wrong choice when they drafted him."
Despite the criticism, Jets coach Robert Saleh is standing by his decision to start Wilson, as Tim Boyle is the only other quarterback on the roster.
"He's not the reason why we lost," Saleh said about Wilson's play on Sunday.
