Pregnant Campbell "Pookie" Puckett Reveals Why Maternity Fashion Isn’t So Fire

Don't worry, Pookie still very much looks fire. But if pregnant TikTok star Campbell Puckett is being honest, putting together date night 'fits while expecting her first child with husband Jett Puckett isn't quite as hot as she'd expected.
"It's been a struggle, I would say—more than I thought," the 32-year-old admitted in an exclusive interview with E! News. "I just thought it would come more natural."
Not that she hasn't risen to the occasion, spending the past several months impressing her husband of six years with a mix of flowy frocks and bodycon picks.
The biggest challenge, said the Atlanta resident, is figuring out every morning, "like, 'Do I show this off or do I wear something baggy?'"
Usually comfy wins out.
"I love being comfortable, chic, kind of effortless—that's usually my go-to style," explained Campbell, noting she's eager for her 20-plus week bump to "get even bigger so it's the focus of the outfit."
But when it comes to date nights with Jett—the managing director of mergers and acquisitions she met at a Philadelphia wine bar—she's happy to slip into, say, a red Revolve number or a backless Seroya dress to earn her husband's patented five-alarm "absolutely fire" approval. ("Fun fact," he shared in a June 30 Instagram post, "Pregnant Pookie is the sexiest form of Pookie.")
Though Campbell gravitates toward flowy for her OOTD, "I've been leaning more into form-fitting for nighttime," she said. "I'm like, 'A bodycon dress? I can handle that for a few hours at dinner.' So I've been showing off the bump for that."
Because now that she's entered the second half of her pregnancy, "I'm just now where I feel comfortable showing my stomach off and it being like, you don't have a food baby," Campbell explained. "Everyone shows different and it's all so interesting. So I've been trying to embrace it as much as I can."
That doesn't mean, though, that she's thrilled with the idea of stretch marks, something she said she was prone to even before learning she was expecting.
"I've loved Bio-Oil for a while," the influencer said of using the skincare product to minimize the appearance of lines on her hips. And she grew even more fond of the brand after learning about their Labor of Love campaign to honor labor and delivery staff during the month of September—when maternity wards tend to see an uptick in patients. (Nine of the 10 most popular dates to give birth fall between Sept. 9 and 20.)
Having experienced a few pregnancy complications, "I've actually been having to go to the doctor more regularly to stay closely monitored," shared Campbell. "So I'm just so appreciative of them and I love that Bio-Oil has supported the amazing labor and delivery staff who are so crucial during this time of your life."
And while she's celebrating the brand's partnership with the American Association of Colleges of Nursing to give $5,000 to 10 nursing students pursuing labor and delivery, she's also placing all of her trust in her own team.
"I don't want to look too far into it and scare myself," she explained of not stressing herself out with the intricacies of labor. While she might take a birthing class or two, "I'm just going to let it happen, probably," she continued. "I trust the people around me. I will have Jett there and then the amazing staff. So I feel like I'm going to be in good hands."
And she means that both figuratively and literally, the former flight attendant only having to mention to Jett that she has the slightest of cramps or a particular craving to send him scurrying.
"He is just so right by my side in everything," she raved. "It's so special to have someone to share it with and I just feel so fortunate that I am doing this with something that I obviously am in love with. He's constantly catering to me and my needs and so concerned with the baby and how we're both doing."
At the moment, they're both doing OK, Campbell finally feeling "so good" after a tougher first trimester.
And with plans underway to tackle the nursery—"We are ripping out carpet!"—and that whole figuring-out-how-to-raise-a-human bit in the works ("That's obviously scary, but having Jett with me through everything makes me more confident"), she can focus on the important things.
Like Baby Puckett's wardrobe, for instance.
Though she and Jett have learned their little one's sex, Campbell said she hasn't "really thought about" buying up some mommy-and-me looks.
"I guess we'll probably coordinate a little," she added. "I don't think I'll be that person that's like, 'Everything has to match.' That's probably not me. But I feel like the baby will have a cool style."
Dare we say, a fire one?
