The wait is over: The Sexiest Man of 2024 has been identified.
John Krasinski has been named People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive of 2024. "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" made the grand reveal Tuesday night, with Krasinski making an appearance.
After Colbert got over his faux shock at not being named yet again, he and 45-year-old Krasinski – aka Jack Ryan from "Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan" – presented an instructional video detailing the six-step process Krasinski used to obtain the "sexiest man" title. The infomercial parody clip, which had the two men in brightly colored '80s workout gear, also featured 2022's Sexiest Man Alive, Chris Evans.
"There was so much laughter on the other end of the phone; it was hard to get words," Krasinski said about wife Emily Blunt's response to hearing her husband was named the Sexiest Man Alive.
When asked how the new title might affect his life at home with Blunt and their daughters Hazel, 10, and Violet, 8, "The Office" star joked to People magazine: "I do think it's going to make me do more household chores, but I'm willing to take the cons with the pros, to be honest with you."

He added, "I think after the cover comes out, (Blunt will) be like, ‘All right, that means you’re going to really earn it here at home.'"
The multi-hyphenate creative, who wrote and directed the heartfelt comedy "IF" as well as the "A Quiet Place" movies, succeeds Patrick Dempsey, the "Grey's Anatomy" alum lovingly known as "McDreamy" who was last year's recipient.
Naming the Sexiest Man Alive has been an annual tradition for People magazine since 1985's inaugural recipient of the title, Mel Gibson. The only deviation was in 1993, when Richard Gere and Cindy Crawford were deemed the Sexiest Couple Alive — and there was no successor named in 1994.

People Sexiest Man Alive Issue: Benny Blanco, 'New Girl' cast
Leading up to Tuesday's announcement, the magazine featured Benny Blanco and the men of "New Girl" in its Sexiest Man Alive issue.
In a People feature on Monday, Blanco gushed about girlfriend Selena Gomez and going "all out" for each other on date nights, including the time Gomez rented out a botanical garden.
"I have a true best friend that I get to do everything in the world with, and every day is the best day of my life," he said of the time they spent together.
He then recalled a Valentine's Day where he got her Taco Bell, made her "movie-theater nachos" and shipped her favorite pickles in from Texas.
Gomez raved about her beau in an Instagram story Monday: "Not only do you love me unconditionally, you always get me my Taco Bell Mexican pizza."
On Tuesday, the magazine published an interview reuniting Jake Johnson, Damon Wayans Jr., Lamorne Morris and Max Greenfield of the Fox sitcom "New Girl." The interview is reportedly the first time all four had been on camera since the finale in 2018.
The series also starred Zooey Deschanel and Hannah Simone.
The group reflected on the show's resurgence in popularity since the pandemic as well as the possibility of an official reunion with the full cast.
"I think we all would if the right thing came; it's really fun to be together," Johnson said.
"We get asked so many questions about the show and 'What about a reunion?' And none of it is up to us," said Greenfield. "It's so much about Liz Meriwether, who created the show, and what she would do differently and how she would direct the show and if she would want to do a reunion."
